After many more months of falling in love with everything about Callum & finally openly admitting my love for him, Callum arrived in America. It was May 2nd that we met in person. The beauty is, we had been in love even though we had never seen each other before that moment. Because my year of being single was not over yet, we spent the next month getting to know each other and praying for our future together. As any young lovers would do, we made plans to get married (which those plans started in November of 2011). By the time June 9th, 2012 arrived we were more than ready to be public with our love for one another. It was a beautifully pure relationship that had been created by God. His hand has been on us since the beginning and it is so obvious that He is the one supporting us in all that we have done.
One thing you should know is that Callum came to America to work as the youth intern for our church, so he has been very involved with every event and happening in the office. His job was intended to last from May until October. Because he was not able to stay in America for a very long time, he only came on a temporary visa waiver. Last month, we went to Guatemala to serve a church with our youth group. When he left the country, he was able to renew his visa waiver. Thankfully, he is now able to stay until October.
Realizing that we only had a few more weeks together, because school would be starting up for me, we decided to look into the possibility of getting married. After mentioning the idea to my mom and a few close friends, we felt more than supported & began to plan.
It was not until Guatemala that we were officially "engaged", but I knew he would propose there and we had every intention of getting married the following Saturday. There was so much confidence that my mother sent out the invitations while we were gone, before he ever proposed.
The wedding was a gift from God, as you might have read on the home page. We are so blessed and have been so blessed beyond what we could have ever asked for. I am in love with and married to the man of my dreams!
We have a lot of decisions to make & we hope to end up in Australia within the next couple of months, so that we can start a life together where we are supposed to be. Both of us feel very strongly about moving to Australia so that Cal can find work! This step is more like a leap, but we trust that all things will work together for the good. God is looking out for us. We are safe and secure!!!
